CISRS Scaffolding Part 2

The law requires that any individual wishing to erect, alter or dismantle scaffolding must be able to prove their competency. The industry-wide accepted proof of competency for operatives is to hold a CISRS Scaffolder Card. 

The CISRS Basic Scaffolding Part 2 course is suitable for adult trainees who have already completed & passed the Part 1 course and have had the recommended amount of further site experience (a minimum of 6 months) prior to commencing Part 2.

(Note: NVQ Level 2 will be required prior to obtaining the CISRS Scaffolder Card) 

Course Duration:

2 Weeks (10 Consecutive Working Days)

Aim:

The Part 2 course is designed to train suitable candidates to the objectives approved by the Construction Industry S/NVQ in the safe erection, alteration and dismantling of the following types of scaffold Basic independent tied scaffoldScaffold with prefabricated beamsProtective fansPavement gantryLoading BayRoof Saddle scaffoldSplay scaffoldRoof edge protection 

Objectives:

By the end of the course:-

  • The trainee operative will be able to interpret scaffold drawings
  • The trainee operative will be able, as a member of a team, to erect, alter and dismantle the following scaffolds safely and in their correct sequence.
  • The ‘Scaffolder’ grade and VQ2 assessment is the established trade competency for the scaffolding industry and enables scaffolders to lead or partake in the majority of scaffolding operations, as covered by this training and assessment.

 Course content:
  • ½ Day Instruction. Training SG4
  • Product familiarisation in approved prefabricated system scaffold
  • Erection/ dismantle of basic Independent Tied Scaffold
  • Truss-Out scaffold
  • Erection/ dismantle of scaffold with prefabricated beams
  • Erection/ dismantle of protective fans
  • Erection/ dismantle of pavement gantry
  • Erection/ dismantle of loading bay
  • Erection/ dismantle of roof saddle scaffold
  • Erection/ dismantle of splay scaffold
  • Erection/ dismantle of roof edge protection
  • TG4 Tie Testing
  • Alterations (e.g. removing standards from a structure)
  • 50 Question Test Paper

Pre-requisites For Candidates:

Candidates must have completed & passed a Part 1 course and have had the minimum recommended site experience between completion of Part 1 and commencement of Part 2 (minimum of 6 months) We will require a copy of the Part 1 certificate as proof of your training. (Unless the Scaffolding Part 1 course was completed at LTC Training Services in which case we will hold a copy on file)

Prices Per Person of CISRS Scaffolding Part 2

£795.00 per person + VAT

(Note: We require a non-refundable deposit of £100.00 to secure a place on a Part 1 course and the balance will be due no later than 21 days prior to course commencement)

Course Tutor:

Neil Gray - Neil holds an advanced scaffolding ticket and has worked in the industry for many years. He started as a Scaffolder himself and later progressed to supervisor and then contracts manager level. He now works full time as our CISRS accredited scaffolding instructor. 

Equipment:

You will be required to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) during the practical aspects of your course. LTC Training Services will provide you with a harness and lanyard for your use during training. You will be required to bring with you your own hard hat, safety boots, high visibility vest and tools. 

Lunch & Refreshment Facilities:

Lunch and refreshments are not included within the course fees. Water and tea & coffee facilities are available on site for your use. 

Accommodation & Transport

Candidates are required to book and pay for their own accommodation and transport should it be required whilst attending any of our courses.  Please see attached sheet for list of local accommodation.

There are attendance grants available for this course for eligible Construction Skills registered companies (Currently £17.50 a day is available plus 10% supplementary grant if eligible.) Certificates

Certificates are included in the cost of this course and are produced by LTC Training Services. They will be forwarded to the customer once payment has been received in full.

Training Location Options:

Due to the nature of this training course i.e. that it involves the physical erection of live scaffold structures this course can be held only in our Scaffold Training School based on the site of our head office in Plymouth, Devon.
